Pass Vault is a open source program. Pass Vault doesn't guarantee about 100% safety of your credentials. But it can guarantee upto 98%. In case if you find that the system has been breached or your credentials got compromised or if you face any kind of problems then our Developes will definitely help you the best, just feel free to contact them. But the Developes of this program will not we responsible for any kind of problems or cavass you are in, in case if you charge them.

No systems are 100% hack proof. What everyone do is that they build another way to stop the crack. So if you find any kind of leaks or ways that can be used by others to break into the system please inform the Development team.

Usage

Pass Vault is a password management program/system that works using Microsoft DotNET Framework 4.8. PassVault uses system generated hash and clock for random cryptography. The US certified AES or Advanced Encryption System as the best way of encrypting passwords. PassVault uses such AES techniques and special algos for encrypting and storing user passwords. PassVault's AI can switch b/w these 3 encrypion algos depending on the user password strength. It uses Windows DPAPI to store the encrypion keys securely in your OS. We will discuss about this in details later.

Password Criteria and Encryption

The best password format is "alphabets""ALPHABETS""NUMBER""SPECIAL_CHARS""AlPhAbEtS_&_NuMbErs" and this format can be rearranged into 5! new combinations.

Why disable internet connection while using??

This is not silly. It's serious. PassVault saves all user passwords in ACCDB in ultra encrypted form. But that doen't mean that a hacker cannot break the ACCDB file and get the passwords. Don't worry if such things happen then he will get those in encrypted formats & it's guratanted by AES founder that without the encryption code and DES code the encryption cannot be broken. So it's safe. But disabling internet adds an extra security. When PassVault is in use it will unlocks the ACCDB and retreives the data for user and now if your internet is on and a hacker seeks into your screen then what? or let's say someone breaks the connection and deletes all data then? So for extra security always use PassVault disconnecting your LAN port or WiFi.

Pass Vault and Virus AntiVirus -es

Pass Vault highly recommends to use a AntiVirus software (set to maximum protection level). Kaspersky & Bitdefender are the best AntiVirus software today. But in case you don't have one and your computer is already infected with Backdoors, Ransomwares, Trojans then be cautious about any irregular behaviours and try to get a AntiVirus program fast. PassVault keeps a backup of your data. But to be more safe just keep a backup of the data (zipped/archived with password so that no one can access) manually in your Cloud Backup system. Your machine can be hacked with simple tweaks by anyone, hackers will either generate a backdoor or fake javascript program that will log your key inputs and get your credentials. So always use a AntiVirus program.

New Features

  1. Random Encryption: This version of application has got random encryption of all sections or columns of the database which adds an extra security.
  2. Back-up System: This version has got a file back-up system that keeps a back-up of all the databases in the secured Windows directory.
  3. Running from Local Application Data Folder: Now this application keeps the temporary files at the Local application data folder of Windows which is set to NULL after application is closed.
  4. Shortcut Keys: Many Shortcut keys have been added for execution of many operations.

Major Updates

  1. UI change: The new UI is based on Material Theme which gives this application a unique look, comfortable for your eyes, for using in dark rooms as well as in light
  2. Run As Admin by default: Previously users had to run the application in Administrator mode and that showed a error ("WIN32 Enable Visual Styles Disabled", "WIN32 Access to LocalApplicationData Denied", "WIN32 AccessDatabaseEngine path error",... etc). But now the program runs by default As An Admin and it has no error. All that stuff has been fixed. Access Database Engine has been integrated with the installation file only.
  3. Custom Control Box: Now the application has got a more secure interface with a custom control box and the window can be moved anywhere.

    1. Search by ID optimised: Searching in in the database with ID has been fixed and now it works fine and it's extemely responsive
    2. Poor UI transition optimised: Constant Screen flashes were reported by many users. But now the UI transition has beem optimised and it is way smoother than previous versions.
    3. Password Shpw/Hide fixed: Users reported that the Show/Hide button for password didn't work and password character wasn't shown. But this feature has been fixed & now it works perfectly.
    4. Run As Admin said but shows error fixed: Previously users had to run the application in Administrator mode to give access to the LocalApplicationData folder, to use Windows cryptography systems, to modify the database as system admin and to use DatabaseEngine. But that showed a error ("WIN32 Enable Visual Styles Disabled", "WIN32 Access to LocalApplicationData Denied", "WIN32 AccessDatabaseEngine path error",... etc).

Removed Features

  1. Viewing of Username, Password, Details, Email, Contact provided, Security Questions, etc disabled in List View. To view them user must select a record and then view everything. This is done to reduce decrypting time while Searching in the List View.
  2. Classic View of Database has been removed.
  3. Brightness Controller Removed after adding new UI.
  4. Search using multiple criteria in multiple text box removed, instead radio buttons have been added for criteria choosing.

Minimum System Requirements

  1. CPU: At least a x64 based CPU with atleast 2 cores 2 threads & 512 MHz operational speed with support of TPM 2.0.
  2. RAM: At least 512 MB of free System RAM must be available with 256 MHz of operational speed for smooth usage.
  3. GPU: At least 32 MB of Dedicated or Integrated GPU Memory must be free for a proper GUI experience.
  4. Storage: At least 1.5 GB of free storage is needed (installation on SSD: optional).
  5. OS: At least a NT based Windows 32-bit(x86) or 64-bit(x64) OS is needed i.e. Windows 2000, xp, 7, Windows 10, Windows 11 (all mentioned here are NT based only).
  6. Display: A display with resolution of at least 1280 x 720 is needed.
  7. Internet Connectivity: Not necessary with current version.

Prerequisites

  1. Microsoft DOT Net Framework 4.8 Runtime & SDK.
  2. Microsoft DOT Net Framework 4.7.2 Runtime & SDK.
  3. Microsoft Access Database Engine for ADO OLEDB 12.0 or Office 2007 or higher.
